Back

Born in Santiago (Chile) in 1934, he got his degree in Arts at the Academy of Beaux Arts of Buenos Aires, in Argentine. In 1954 Zablach was compelled by the difficult political crisis his country is living, to move to Brazil, where he was to teach for several years painting and sculpture at the Cultural Centre de Bangł. In the same year he began to be greatly engaged in many exibitions in North and South America. For forty years his works have revealed his style which is characterized by a deep knowledge of the variegated American Latin civilization.
In 1973 Hector Zablach moved to Europe. He took part in the event of the Exibition of Contemporary Art at Asiago (Italy), where he was to find a joint between the European Art and the South-American painting, of which he was, at that time, the unique ambassador. In that occasion he met European and Italian painters such as BAJ, CASSINARI, CRIPPA, DOVA, FIUME, FONTANA, GUTTUSO, HARLOFF, LILLONI, MANZU', PICASSO, SASSU, SCANAVINO, with whom he was to establish an artistic collaboration, which was to influence definitely his paintings. Yet for the Chilean Hector Zablach is an artist of the people such as Victor Jara, Gabriele Mistral, Pablo Neruda, who communicates with his colours the hope in a new America, in a new Chile. Now, looking at his pictures, we are going to discover his life, his humanity, his romantic choice of lights and shodows which remind of 19th century paintings, his warm and passionate colours which express his greath strength along with a deep sufferance.
